Loretta Meyer
Loretta Meyer is a photographer who lived in Hamilton for 20 years and now currently resides in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario with her husband, 2 cats and one foster dog. She considers Hamilton her “home away from home” as she’s back often to visit friends and family. She has 3 grown children who are artistically inclined as well. 2 are self-taught musicians and one is an artist. The 3 grandchildren (and one on the way!) are her favourite subjects.
Loretta Meyer has had a camera in her hand from an early age, starting with a little Instamatic. Self-taught, she has spent a long time learning, fine-tuning her skills and letting her passion bloom. Loretta is committed to sharing her photographic vision, whether it's nature, nuptials, new life and anything in between.
The creative outlet is what keeps her grounded and the fire in her belly fuelled. Her works have won awards amongst her peers and have been nominated for several awards, including “Photograph Of The Year”, in a world-wide contest and ranked in the top 10 percentile. Her work has also been shared on Kawartha Now and Canadian Geographic magazines social media accounts.
"I believe that photographs are heirlooms. They are priceless. They are our history and our future. Brief moments captured in time forever".
