Oh, You Pretty Things
My mission for this exhibit is so simple. It is just admiring the beauty in what surrounds us. A colour, a shape, a texture, another living being, or even how the light hits it all can bring such joy if we just slow down enough to notice it. Sometimes we are in such a hurry to get to the next thing that we completely pass by beautiful things. Sometimes we are so stuck in our own heads that we gloss over what could very well be right in front of us. We forget to stop and look around at the sheer beauty and the feeling of joy that it brings when we feast our eyes on that particular thing. In such a complicated time right now, more than ever, we need to bring joy and beauty to our lives because it still is there. In fact, it’s screaming for our attention, so let’s give it and honour it.
